Insurance Bureau of Canada suggests the following holiday safety tips.

- Keep all fresh trees and plants watered. This will prevent drying, which can be a fire hazard. rn
- Test and maintain your smoke and CO detectors. rn
- Keep alkways and front stairs clear of snow and ice. This will help make sure holiday visitors don't slip and fall. rn
- Create or review a family emergency plan rn
- Update emergency Kit rn
- Check First-aid kit and replace missing supplies rn
- Update home inventory. This especially inportant if you receive expensive or meanigful gifts this holiday season rn
- Review insurance policies rn
- If you go on vacation, even for a few days, leave the heat on (at an energy saving setting) and have someone you trust check on yur home while you are away. rn
- Regularly run water through all plumbing fixtures. rn
